CONNECTICUT ARROWHEADS
MAY 2005
I have been walking corn fields like this since I was five years old it is in my blood I call it "sloggin" because you literally have to wade through the mud at some times.
Pictured above is a sight for sore eyes in Southern New England  I visited this field on 5/25/05. Not much in the way of finds. I was lucky enough to get one crude point and a couple of  broken Quartz points. Here is an as found shot of one of the broken quartz points. I put these shots up here to help people see what to look for. These shots are pretty obvious but I will be adding more as soon as I come across them afield.
I don't have exact data for Western Connecticut but you will definitely find more quartz than other materials. Quartz occurs in our area in great abundance.
Flint, Chert, Jasper, Argilite, Ryolite and Agate etc. are all here  but is less abundant as it was usually brought in from other areas. Some is found localy in streambeds and river bottoms having been carried here by past glacial activities.
